At the heart of the story are two distinctive voices. Aya, a soulful singer from Douala, Cameroon, arrives in Abidjan ready to discover a new world. Along the way, we meet Koffie, a young, charismatic Ivorian singer whose playful energy and love for his country bring its people, culture and music to life.

Each track tells its own story. Aya and Koffie take us through bustling markets, seaside villages, romantic evenings, colorful neighborhoods and unforgettable encounters. Their experiences celebrate the simple pleasures of life: meeting new friends, falling in love, discovering beautiful places and dancing until the sun comes up.

Musically, Abidjan et Aya blends Afro House, Afro-Zouk, Zouglou, Zouk Love, Coupé-Décalé and Makossa into a warm, melodic and gently hypnotic sound. Rolling basslines, rhythmic African guitars, delicate percussion and soulful vocals create an atmosphere that is both relaxing and irresistibly danceable.

Sung in French with expressions from Ivorian street culture, the album unfolds across three chapters, taking listeners from the excitement of arriving in Abidjan to the rhythms of its nightlife and the natural beauty of Côte d'Ivoire.

The journey concludes with a special surprise. Eric, a Frenchman who grew up in Morocco and now lives in the United States, arrives in Abidjan to join the celebration. His appearance captures the album's central message: wherever we come from, music has the extraordinary ability to bring us together.

More than a collection of 14 songs, Abidjan et Aya is a love letter to Côte d'Ivoire, its welcoming people, its cultural richness and the happiness that music brings into our lives.
