The Story
In the artist's words
Three Friends. One Island. A Journey Home.
Golden Hour Jamaica is a cinematic concept album that tells the story of three childhood friends from Kingston who return home after years of living abroad. Performed in a blend of English, Jamaican Patois, and French, Golden Hour Jamaica reflects the journeys of three friends returning home after years in London, Paris, and New York.
One built his life in London. One found himself in Paris. One chased his dreams in New York.
Separated by oceans, careers, and time, they eventually find their way back to the island where it all began.
What starts as a reunion quickly becomes something more.
Together they rediscover Jamaica through fresh eyes. They wander the streets of Kingston, spend long afternoons on the beach, dance beneath the stars, watch the sunrise over the Caribbean Sea, and reconnect with old friends who never left. Along the way, new friendships are formed, unexpected romances unfold, and memories long forgotten begin to return.
As the days pass, the island slowly reminds them of who they are.
Told through a unique blend of English, French, and Jamaican Patois, Golden Hour Jamaica blends the signature melodic house, deep house, and sunset house sound of Club Hikari Records with the rhythms, soul, and spirit of Jamaica.
From rooftop gatherings overlooking Kingston to barefoot dances on moonlit beaches, from deep reggae sessions to quiet conversations at sunrise, every song captures a different moment in a week that none of them will ever forget.
At its heart, this is not simply a story about returning home.
It is a story about friendship.
About remembering where you come from. About the people and places that continue to shape you, no matter how far away you travel. And about the realization that sometimes the greatest journeys are the ones that bring you back to where you started.
Golden Hour Jamaica is a love letter to Kingston. A love letter to friendship. And a love letter to the island that never stopped calling them home.
Listen, stay awhile.
Love,
Guillaume
